$0.99 cents & under for "everyday" products @ Walgreens

People don't believe me when I say I pay less than a dollar for items like toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
By the way, there were NOT signs on the shelves pointing the offers I've got.
I was flying "solo" here - my suggestion is: rely on the current weekly flyer to purchase the right products (get it from the front of the store), you'd need it anyway to cut a few Walgreens coupons from there as well... multiple transactions is the way to buy @ this drugstore.

Dove deodorant shows over $5.00 @ the shelf - don't get discouraged and bring the flyer with you @ the time of checking out in case the register doesn't ring the proper sale (mine did). Nothing shows the SALE price! (aggravated)

Transaction #1 - I paid $3.98
Contact solution 10oz. $3.99 - 1/$3.00 OFF MC from 12/4 newspaper = $0.99
Dove deodorant $3.99 - 1/$1.00 OFF MC from Facebook (not available anymore - hope you printed it @ the right time) = $2.99 BUT, I've got $3.00 RR from this transaction so...

Transaction #2 - I paid $3.27
8 Holiday paper pouches $1.00 (Walgreens coupon from current flyer)
Reynolds wrap 20 ft. $0.99 (Walgreens coupon from current flyer)
Sharpie $0.29 (Walgreens coupon from current flyer)
Revlon nail polish $3.99 - $3.00 RR from Transaction #1
I've got another $3.00 RR from the nail polish to use on my transaction

Transaction #3 - I paid $0.69
Gallon of milk $3.69 - $3.00 RR from transaction #2

My total: $7.94 for 14 items

Theraflu deal @ Walgreens - the fine print is out!

I have to say this one more time, stores offer many deals which at the time of visiting the store they are not easy to find. Basically, they like to play hardball with us, grrr...
The Theraflu deal of 2/$10.00 w/$5.00 RR is the perfect example.

The online weekly ad shows 4 different products of this brand under this offer:

Still with me? Great!
Yesterday, when I went to the store only ONE of these 4 different products was tagged as part of the offer and of course, by the afternoon the store ran out of it:

This is not a one-time thing. It happens all the time.
That's why it's so important to read every detail of a sale, coupon, etc.

I've got the tablets one. Hope you find yours.

Listerine on Sale + freebie Arrid @ Walgreens - the fine print is out!

Things to have in consideration:
- Listerine are marked $6.28 and the one ON SALE is the 500ml. Total Care or Zero, bring the weekly flyer (you can get this @ the front of the store) when checking out, just in case. They ring $3.14 each @ the register - 2/$2.00 OFF MC = $2.28 or $1.14 each, sweet!
- Arrid ON SALE still shows as $3.79. Clip the $0.99 coupon from the weekly flyer - 1/$1.00 OFF MC from HERE = FREE

VERY IMPORTANT: due to you have 4 coupons to redeem (1 SC + 3 MCs) you "need to" purchase 4 products (doesn't matter what else you buy as the 4th item) to use all of them.
Couponers call that "fillers" and usually are gum, single chocolate bar, whatever you can find under $1.00 BUT I always use milk as my filler, why? Well, I need to purchase milk almost every other day no matter what and we RARELY get coupons for it... do I make sense? Hope so.

Did I mention I've got 2/$2.00 OFF Listerine SC back? They are expiring Jan. 2012, Yay!

*SC = store coupon
*MC = manufacturer coupon

My latest trip to Walgreens - multiple transactions = little out of your pocket

The trick to get the most out of your $ is to roll over RRs, paying the less possible out of your pocket. The only way to do it is thru "multiple transactions". Walgreens employees are used to it BUT, I recommend you to keep an eye on every single purchase... why? they are only human :)

Transaction #1
Colgate Pro-relief $4.99 - $3 RR - 1/$1.00 MC = out of pocket $3.99
I received $3.00 RR

Transaction #2
Huggies Slip-on $8.99 - $3.00 RR from Transaction #1 - 1/$3.00 OFF MC = out of pocket $2.99
Colgate Optic White $3.99 - 1/$1.50 OFF MC = out of pocket $2.49
I received $2.00 RR + $2.00

Transaction #3
2 DiGiorno pizzas $6.00 - 1/$1.00 OFF MC = $5.00
Zest soap 3 ct. $1.99 - 1/$1.00 OFF MC = $0.99
$5.99 - $4.00 RR from Transaction #2 = out of pocket $1.99
On this last transaction I was able to use two RRs ($2.00 each) due to I was purchasing 2 items.

Total retail price: $25.96
I paid $11.46
